Job Summary

The Compliance Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Surplus Lines Team related to the preparation and filing of surplus lines taxes to ensure compliance with filing requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in completion of administrative tasks such as generating reports, pulling policy documents, etc.; related to tax reports due on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual basis;
  • Verify the accuracy of data by running and reviewing and comparing information to other available resources;
  • Assist with the successful completion of surplus lines audits by– pulling documents, filing correspondence, and organizing information for audit response;
  • Work effectively with Corporate Compliance and Accounting as well as other departments, divisions, and personnel as needed on assigned surplus lines projects;
  • Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards; and
  • Other related duties and projects as assigned


  • High school diploma or GED required plus one year of data entry experience, clerical accounting experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Proficiency with computers, including familiarity with MS office products, especially Excel
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to organize manage multiple priorities with appropriate prioritization
