Position Summary
The Customer Service Representative assists with customer complaints, orders, errors, account questions, billing, cancelations, and other queries. This position must uphold the quality control standards of service to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls and emails from assigned lenders, including assisting with questions regarding letters or charges for insurance; obtaining proof of coverage; etc.
- Search insurance websites for proof of coverage and printing proof for data entry
- Contact agent to verify Break In Coverage (BIC) dates
- Regularly review files from lenders to identify multi-collateral properties to ensure all appropriate properties and addresses are included and verify loan information
- Prepare escrow disbursements to meet lender deadlines, including creating escrow reports, initiating calls for missing invoices and communicating information to lenders
- Review insurance policies to ensure they meet the lender requirements
- Make outbound calls to insurance agents and companies to verify coverage, solicit renewals and/or request missing information
- Enter insurance information received via email or fax into automated systems, including lender place flood, hazard, wind and flood deficiency policies
- Review information received from server and determine if they need to be entered or sent to inputter to update
- Review new loan reports to ensure loans have in-force policies on file and request missing policies from lenders
- Prepare, analyze and send various reports to lenders regarding their specific account(s)
- Reconcile information from various sources to ensure accuracy (i.e. matching insurance to loans, correct property listed, etc.)
- Prepare cancellations, premium notices, bills and letters to lenders and/or customers as required by regulations
- Attend departmental meetings as requested
- Maintain appropriate, professional working relationships with clients and other employees
- Assist with data entry to enter information into the appropriate workflow application utilizing data from insurance documents to track/search the application for a matching record and enter updates based on business processing rules.
- Other related projects as assigned
Qualifications / Experience
- High school diploma or GED required plus one year of customer service experience, preferably in insurance, finance or banking, and in a call center environment.
- This is an entry-level position focused on learning SUI workflows, policies and procedures.
- Property & Casualty insurance license is a strong plus.
