Steamboat Chairman and former CEO David A. Jordan retired from the insurance industry after nearly 44 successful years.

David has been a respected champion of client interests, known for always empowering his team. His over four decades in the property and casualty insurance sector included 11 job roles, three employers, and nine homes in different cities. It all started in March 1980 as a trainee at New Hampshire Insurance Company.

Before joining us in 2019 as CEO, David had been President and CEO of Vela Insurance, a part of Berkley Group, for more than a decade. He had also been SVP at Lexington Insurance Company in Boston, as well as VP at both AIG member companies and Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company. He built several companies through his skill, discipline, transparency, and collaboration.
