Job Summary
The Account Assistant is responsible for providing operational and/or administrative support on accounts. This may include posting funds received, generating quotes, reconciling daily GL reports, managing mail, verifying insurance status, issuing certificates of insurance, cancelling policies, and other customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Scanning documents daily for all hazard and flood activity
· Filing master policies and maintaining an organized filing system
· Stuffing and folding daily mail
· Making copies as needed
· Opening departmental mail
· Sorting, preparing, copying checks and invoices
· Calling insurance companies to verify coverage
· Generating premium quotes for flood policies (back-up to main person)
· Setting up user id’s and passwords for online users
· Pulling insurance documents from the scan system to forward to cancellation dept
· Auditing flood, hazard cancellations between two systems
· Sorting monthly hazard and flood bills and preparing them for mailing
· Balancing the General Ledger each morning for the accounting department
· Other related projects as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and three years of related experience; some college/university preferred.
